ARTIST STATEMENT
Welcome to IN BETWEEN BEING.
An exhibition that invites the viewer inside every artist’s most sacred space as Nadia Ørneborg unfolds a journey of rediscovering her visual voice, while rebuilding her life and sense of self after disaster.
Nadia Ørneborg openly lays this uncertain but important stage of creative experimentation bare to everyone who wants to see. Acknowledging that it is part of the process we all have to go through to build a meaningful foundation for our life’s goals and dreams.
Using paper and canvas scraps as well as wooden panels gifted to her long before this exhibition, the artist assembles and reunites scattered pieces of herself into unexpected possibilities. The works highlight how building new meaning begins from within ourselves - shaped by what is already available to us. Encouraging curiosity and active creation instead of waiting for “the right” conditions to emerge.
Step into a vulnerable yet powerful space of exploration taking place in real time. Here action triumphs perfection while fragments of strength and beauty are found even in life’s darkest moments.
(Nadia Ørneborg is recovering from a head injury sustained in 2020 and is in active work ability assessment (jobprøvning) during this exhibition.)
